Step-by-Step Guide to Sending a Request to an Applicant Using Fastkey’s ID Verification Tool

Fastkey’s ID Verification tool makes it easy for anyone to verify identities and stay compliant with FINTRAC and KYC requirements. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Register for a free Fastkey account: Visit https://www.fastkey.com/register and create your account.
  2. Log into your Fastkey account: Once logged into your Dashboard, simply select the "Identity Verification" product within your dashboard.
  3. Enter your applicant's information: You will them be asked to enter your applicant's First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone. You will also have the option to write a custom message that they will receive via email when they receive the request.
  4. Specify why you are sending the request: Simply select whether you are sending a request as a result of financial screening/underwriting, employment evaluation, or tenancy evaluation. 
  5. Review your order: From the next page, review your order and ensure everything looks as intended. Once you push Order, your applicant will receive an email and SMS, typically within 3-5 minutes.
Your applicant will be advised that you are requesting a Biometric ID Verification from them. Once they complete the necessary steps, you will receive an email notification letting you know your report is ready for download. This will contain all of the information you require to ensure you have done your due diligence, and satisfy Fintrac obligations.

We recommend downloading the report and keeping a copy for your own records, as Fastkey only retains records for a period of 90 days.
